Meet Mirella

Mirella is a security and resilience trainer who uses martial arts and situational awareness to help women, professionals, and vulnerable communities build confidence, recognize risk, and respond effectively in challenging environments.

A Jiu-Jitsu black belt with over 15 years of teaching experience, an international competitor, and a 2019 World Champion. She also has more than five years of experience in striking disciplines, including kickboxing, boxing, and Muay Thai. Her martial arts journey began in Montreal, Canada, at the renowned Tristar Gym, known for training some of the biggest names in MMA and the UFC.

After several years working in marketing, design, and social media management, Mirella decided to shift her career to focus on empowering people from vulnerable backgrounds through martial arts and self-defense.

Mirella has had the privilege of working with individuals from all walks of life, including marginalized and underprivileged women and children, refugees, migrant workers from Asia and Africa, youth, athletes, LGBTQ+, athletes and members of the security forces. She has partnered with numerous NGOs to deliver impactful self-defense and empowerment programs, including UNDP, IRC, Caritas, Afel, NAVTSS, AIDA, Fairtrade, the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue, and Fattal Group. In addition, she has conducted private workshops for companies and groups of women.

Mirella also travels internationally to deliver security and situational awareness training for women. She conducts her programs in Arabic, French, and English, making her work accessible to diverse communities and organizations.

Her work goes beyond physical training. It focuses on mental preparation, situational awareness, and resilience. Through her programs, Mirella helps participants explore practical strategies to improve their safety, confidence, and ability to navigate challenging environments, particularly in vulnerable communities.

Mirella has also managed a martial arts gym in Beirut, where she designed training curricula, taught classes, and oversaw daily operations, including finance and personnel management.
